60-year old Rosie Swale-Pope is almost four years into her quest of accomplishing a complete circuit of the globe - on foot. On her 57th birthday, Rosie set off from her home in Wales, aiming to do a circuit of the globe that took her over as much land mass as possible. This meant she would have to go through 7000 miles of Russia and Siberia, as well as Alaska. However, she has seen off both these challenges and is safely over the worst part of the run, currently making her way through the beautiful state of Wisconsin. Her site says she is two thirds of the way through her journey, but as you can see from the graphic below, it seems like quite a bit more than that.

(Actually since this image is hotlinked straight from her site, that red line should keep increasing as she nears her goal)
Her reasons for attempting this incredible feat on limited funds are make for very moving reading indeed - the year before the run started, Rosie's husband, Clive, passed away from prostate cancer. This made Rosie realise she had to squeeze every drop out of every moment; in addition, she is using her epic voyage to raise as much money and awareness as possible for cancer charities and orphanages around the world.
